One can learn at a surface level or go as in depth as you would like. There is plenty of material, well written, and beautiful illustrations. The video's show hands on information. I started with the herbal medicine making course that the Chestnut School offers and I felt connected to a classroom even though we all had virtual seats. The video instruction is clear and fun to follow. The printed materials are thorough in instruction and generous in content. The online support group is very active and Juliet is responsive to questions. I recommend this school to anyone who wants to learn about practical herbal use at home and can't get to a live and local teacher. Love the information and resources, and with Spring almost here, excited to put the learning into practice. CSHM provides lots of nice 'tidbits', like a super video on making healthier sodas. I make one from spring-growth eastern pine needles, ginger, and honey, but ferment it in a mason jar. My process takes a few days because I am relying on the natural yeast of the pine needles. When it's fermented, I transfer to my bottles. But I have some yeast from last fall's mead so will try this recipe!

Living in harmony with nature includes accepting the good with the bad. Every season has its reason! I love how the course is created by people who obviously have a deep love for nature, medicine and all the inhabitants of our earth. Healing ourselves begins with healing nature and I've felt this lesson more with this course than anywhere else. How nature has everything we need in order to heal ourselves. This course was a magical experience from start to finish and I'm glad to have access to the material for life. The course will open up a whole new world for you.  You will learn how to identify plants, how to use them in your cooking and in medicine, how safe they are, where to find them or how to grow them, plus you will have resources for where to purchase them if necessary.  The teaching videos are engaging and informative.  The manual is beautiful with its many colored photos.   When and if you need assistance, the instructors are kind and helpful.
