Witch Hazel Solution for Hemorrhoids
Maybe they’re not the most glorious ailment to talk about, but hemorrhoids exist—and it sure is nice to have a natural remedy within reach! Pregnancy, giving birth, old age, stress, and heavy lifting can all bring on hemorrhoids. We’ve had them recurring in our family, and this remedy has proven to be the solution! Ever since then, I have kept a witch hazel concoction on hand for preventive measures. Guess what? No more hemorrhoids! I’m serious!

Glass jar with cover
- 16 ounces witch hazel tincture*
- 3 tablespoons calendula flowers, dried (Calendula officinalis)
- 3 tablespoons lavender flowers, dried (Lavandula angustifolia)
- 3 tablespoons rose petals, dried (Rosa spp.)
- 3 tablespoons plantain leaves, freshly chopped (Plantago spp.)
- 1 cup distilled water
Steep all herbs in witch hazel tincture in a glass jar. (Heating isn't necessary). Store in a cool, dark location.
Shake regularly and chant, “Hemorrhoids are not welcome here nor there.” (Chanting is optional yet enjoyable)
Strain after four to six weeks.
Add distilled water to the herbally-enhanced witch hazel tincture.
Keep your solution by the toilet, preferably in an easy-to-access container with a tight lid that pours easily, out of the reach of curious little hands.
Pour a small amount on toilet paper, and dab onto the affected area each time after wiping from a bowel movement.
